The best pickleball gift for a man depends on two things: who he is to you, and how much he plays. If he plays a few times a month, a hat or shirt with a joke about his game, a dozen balls, or a pair of court shoes is plenty. If he plays most days, buy the things that wear out (balls, overgrips, shoes), the upgrade he keeps putting off (a real court bag, eye protection, a lesson), or something he would never buy himself. Skip the paddle unless he told you the exact model. Below, the ideas are sorted by person (dad, husband or boyfriend, grandpa, brother or friend, coach, and the man who has everything) and then by price, with a real price on every item and a list of gifts to skip.
Quick picks
- Dad: It Was Out Respectfully Hat ($32), or a 12-pack of his usual outdoor balls ($30 to $40)
- Husband or boyfriend: Officially a 3.0, Emotionally a 5.0 Sweatshirt ($42), or a court backpack ($80 to $195)
- Grandpa: Papa Calls the Score Hat ($32), plus a ball pickup tool ($15)
- Brother or friend: Self-Rated 4.0 Tee ($27), or overgrips ($7 to $9)
- Coach: Toes Behind the Line Hat ($32)
- The man who has everything: a private lesson, a tournament entry, or a massage gun ($220)
- Under $20: any of our 11 oz mugs ($19), overgrips ($7 to $9), a ball pickup tool ($15)
All of our items for men are in one place: Pickleball Gifts for Him.
How we chose (and what we did not do)
We are a small shop that makes pickleball shirts, sweatshirts, hats, mugs, totes and towels. Some of the gifts below are ours, and they are marked with our prices and links. Many are not ours: paddles, shoes, bags, balls, eyewear and gear from other brands. We did not test the gear from other brands. We picked the kinds of things men who play use every week, and listed example products with the prices we saw on brand and retailer pages in October 2026. Prices change often, so use them as a guide to the budget, not a quote.
We sorted by person first, because most people searching for this are not asking "which bag is best". They are asking "what do I get my dad who plays three mornings a week" or "what do I get my husband who now talks about the kitchen at dinner".
Pickleball gifts for dad
Dads who play tend to fall into two groups: the one who picked it up recently and is all in, and the one who has played for years and already owns everything he needs. For both, a gift with a joke about his own game works well, and so does a restock of things that run out. These are good for Father's Day, a birthday or Christmas.
It Was Out Respectfully ($27 to $32)
Every rec game has a close line call, and every group has the dad who calls it. This line is the polite way to do it. The embroidered hat is $32, one size with an adjustable strap, so you do not need his size. Also as a T-shirt ($27) and a towel ($28) for his bag.
Score Calling Is My Cardio ($19 to $28)
In doubles the server calls three numbers before every serve. Some dads call it loud enough for the next court. Some forget it every time. This works for either one. T-shirt $27, 11 oz mug $19, towel $28.
A 12-pack of his usual outdoor balls ($30 to $40)
Outdoor balls crack and go soft, and a dad who plays often goes through them fast. In October 2026, the Franklin X-40 12-pack was listed at $29.97 at Walmart, and the ONIX Dura Outdoor 12-pack was $39.99. Look in his bag first, or ask someone in his group, because many groups stick to one brand.
Court shoes ($89 to $130)
Plenty of dads still play in running shoes, which are made for moving forward, not side to side. Court shoes listed in 2026 included the HEAD Motion Pro ($89), the Skechers Viper Court Pro 2.0 ($114.95) and the ASICS Gel-Resolution X ($129.95). Fit matters, so only buy shoes if you know his size and brand. Otherwise, a gift card is the better pick.
Pickleball gifts for a husband or boyfriend
You know him best, which is an advantage. You know whether he would laugh at a joke about his rating, whether his bag is falling apart, and whether he squints at the sun on the court. Lean into what you have noticed.
Officially a 3.0, Emotionally a 5.0 ($19 to $42)
Players are rated by skill level, usually from about 2.0 to 5.0 and up, and a lot of rec players feel like they are a few levels above their number. If that sounds like him, this is the one. The crewneck sweatshirt is $42 in S to XL, good for cool mornings and indoor courts. Also as a T-shirt ($27) and a mug ($19).
Paddle Packed, Plans Cancelled ($19 to $32)
For the man who keeps a paddle in the car and has turned down more than one plan because of open play. This is a good gift if you have been on the other side of one of those cancelled plans. Embroidered hat $32, T-shirt $27, mug $19, tote $28.
Pickle and Balls ($19 / $27)
A cartoon pickle in sunglasses, hands on hips, standing over two pickleballs. You can read it however you like. A gag gift for a boyfriend or husband with that sense of humor. T-shirt $27, mug $19.
A real court bag ($30 to $195)
A lot of men carry their paddle in an old gym bag or a backpack from work. Bags made for pickleball have a paddle sleeve, a shoe pocket and often a hook for the fence. Prices seen in October 2026: Franklin sling bag $29.99 (Pickleball Warehouse), Selkirk SLK sling $34.99 (Racquetpoint), Selkirk Core Team Backpack $79.99, and FORWRD Court Ranger V2 backpack $195.
Eye protection ($70 to $95)
Fast hands at the net send balls toward faces, and most rec players do not wear anything. JOOLA RJX Lite eyewear was listed at $69.95 and CRBN Pivot pickleball glasses at $95. This is a gift he may not think to buy for himself.
Pickleball gifts for grandpa
For a grandpa who plays several mornings a week, the gifts that land are personal ones from the family, and ones that make a long morning easier on the back and knees. We have a full guide for this: Pickleball Gifts for Grandpa (and Grandma).
Papa Calls the Score ($19 to $32)
Someone in every doubles game calls the score out loud. In a lot of families, it is Papa. Embroidered hat $32, mug $19, T-shirt $27. A hat and a mug together make a good gift from the grandkids.
Grandpa Pickle ($19 / $27)
A cartoon grandpa pickle in a visor, round glasses and tube socks, holding up his paddle with a big grin. No words, just the picture. T-shirt $27, mug $19.
Retired From Work, Not From the Kitchen ($19 to $42)
For the grandpa who left the job and found the court. Also a good retirement party gift from coworkers. Sweatshirt $42, T-shirt $27, mug $19. More in Pickleball Retirement Gifts.
A ball pickup tool ($15)
In a two-hour session a player bends down for a ball many dozens of times. The PickleUpper, which fits on the paddle handle and lets him pick up a ball without bending, was listed at $14.95 on its maker's site in October 2026 (it showed as sold out, so check stock first).
Pickleball gifts for a brother or friend
For a brother, a friend or a guy from the group, keep it light. A joke shirt, a towel, or something small that runs out is the right size of gift.
Self-Rated 4.0 ($27 / $32)
For the friend who picked his own rating, and picked generously. T-shirt $27, embroidered hat $32. It gets a laugh from the rest of the group too.
Tennis Was a Phase ($27 to $42)
For the brother who played tennis for years, switched, and will tell you why. T-shirt $27, embroidered hat $32, sweatshirt $42.
Cool Pickle ($19 / $27)
A cartoon pickle in dark sunglasses and a red headband, paddle over one shoulder. For the guy who shows up to open play like he owns the place. T-shirt $27, mug $19.
Overgrips ($7 to $9)
The thin wrap on a paddle handle wears out, and most players wait too long to replace it. HEAD Xtreme Soft overgrips were listed at $7.49 and the GAMMA Honeycomb Cushion Grip at $8.99. An easy add-on to any gift.

Pickleball gifts for a coach
A coach or the man who runs your club's clinics hears the same few lines all day, and says a few of them too. A thank-you gift from a class or team works well here, and it is easy to split.
Toes Behind the Line ($27 / $32)
The kitchen rule every new player hears in the first week, usually from the coach. The embroidered hat is $32 and the T-shirt is $27.
Seven Feet of Patience ($19 to $28)
The kitchen is seven feet deep, and a good coach spends a lot of time asking players to wait there. T-shirt $27, mug $19, tote $28.
44 x 20 Court ($28 / $32)
A pickleball court is 44 feet long and 20 feet wide. This design is just the court outline and those numbers, for a coach who likes a clean look. Embroidered hat $32, towel $28, tote $28, T-shirt $27.
A ball machine, as a group gift ($1,119)
For a coach who runs drills alone or a club pooling money, a ball machine is a big gift. The Pickleball Tutor Spin was listed at $1,119 in 2026 gift guides.
Pickleball gifts for the man who has everything
He has the paddle he likes, a backup, a good bag and more balls than he needs. Buy him time on the court, help getting better, or help recovering after. We have a full guide on this too: Gifts for Pickleball Players Who Have Everything.
- A private lesson. Private lessons in 2026 were often $50 to $100 an hour, more in some cities. Buy a session with a coach he already likes, or call his club for a gift certificate.
- A tournament entry. Pay the entry fee for a local tournament, or a hotel night for one out of town.
- A massage gun ($219.99). The Theragun Mini (3rd generation) was listed at $219.99 at Dermstore in October 2026. For the man who is sore after a long morning of games.
- A premium paddle, only if he named it ($279.99 to $299.95). The CRBN 1 TruFoam Genesis was listed at $279.99 and the JOOLA Perseus Pro V Ben Johns 16mm at $299.95. Only buy the exact model, weight and grip size he asked for.
- A top-end backpack ($325). The FORWRD Court Caddy Backpack was listed at $325, for the man whose current bag is fine but who would like a much nicer one.

What not to buy
- A paddle he did not ask for. Men who play often care a lot about weight, grip size, shape and feel. Most already have a favorite and a backup. Give a gift card to a pickleball shop, or ask for the exact model.
- A cheap paddle set for a serious player. A two-paddle beginner set is a great gift for a family. A man who plays four times a week will not use it.
- The wrong balls. Indoor and outdoor balls play very differently, and many groups agree on one brand. Check his bag.
- Shoes in a size you guessed. Court shoes need the right fit, and sizes differ by brand. If you are not sure, give a gift card.
- Clothing in a size you guessed. If you do not know his size, pick a hat, mug, towel or tote. If you do buy a shirt, lay one he already wears flat and measure across the chest.
- Jokes about his age, his knees or his belly. A joke about his game (the line calls, the score, the kitchen, his rating) gets a laugh. A joke about getting old is a gamble.
- A generic mug with a picture of a paddle. He has probably been given that one already. Pick a design with a joke only players get.

Frequently asked questions
What is a good pickleball gift for a man?
For a man who plays now and then, an embroidered hat or shirt with a joke about his game ($27 to $32) or a 12-pack of balls ($30 to $40). For a man who plays most days, court shoes, a real court bag, eye protection or a lesson. Skip the paddle unless he named the model.
What do you get a dad who plays pickleball?
Something personal and something practical. A hat like "It Was Out. Respectfully." ($32) or a "Score Calling Is My Cardio" mug ($19), plus a restock of the balls his group uses.
What is a good pickleball gift for my husband or boyfriend?
Think about what you have seen. If his bag is falling apart, a court backpack ($80 to $195). If he talks about his rating a lot, the "Officially a 3.0, Emotionally a 5.0" sweatshirt ($42). If he squints in the sun, eye protection ($70 to $95).
What is a good pickleball gift for him under $30?
Overgrips ($7 to $9), a ball pickup tool ($15), any of our 11 oz mugs ($19), any of our T-shirts ($27), or a towel ($28).
Should I buy him a pickleball paddle?
Only if he is brand new, or if he told you the exact paddle, weight and grip size he wants. Players who have played a while are very picky about paddles. A gift card to a pickleball shop is the safer way to give one.
How long does shipping take on your items?
Each item is made after you order. Production takes 2 to 5 business days, then US shipping takes 3 to 4 business days. Shipping is free in the US.
